Vienna Vikings 42 - 23 Wroclaw Panthers
The best team in the AFLE vs another presumed playoff lock matched up in week 2 of the AFLE. It was, offensively, a fireworks show, I'll give them that.
Offensive Performance - 4*
Ben Holmes threw some very pretty balls.
Jameson Wang remains one of the best QBs in Europe.
Two Panthers fumbles in the opening half.
Deep balls have been open all day.
Wroclaw OL is suspect.
Defensive Performance - 2*
The two fumbles are carrying the grade.
Vienna DBs got smoked all day long from start to finish.
Wroclaw doesn't have the speed on defence at all.
Ref Performance - 3*
Inoffensive.
Commentary (English) - 4*
Both have good knowledge of Europe and the past few seasons.
Good moments made better with good commentary.
Big Moments/Game Drama - 3*
Vienna are playing at half speed, and everyone can see it. They give up long drives, then just throw up a deep ball and go back on defence.
Deep passes are fun to watch.
Individual Performances - 3.5*
Both Wang and Holmes have been excellent.
Mike Harley was killing Vienna, and Mayr is one of Europe's best receivers.
A very poor performance by every Vienna and Wroclaw DB.
Ending - 2*
Vienna were in full control from the second half.
Back-ups finished the job.
Overall Score - 3.07*
Fun offensive first half, slowed down a lot in the second.
Vienna stayed in second gear all game.
Games MVP - Ben Holmes
Beautiful corner and deep passes.
Stuffed the stat sheet.
Looked effortless.
